Doug Vitale Tech Blog Web proxy is a free web proxy that lets you anonymously visit websites. Each time you normally surf the web, you share some details about your computer and Internet connection, such as your browser version, IP address, and Internet service provider (ISP) name. Some web portals and search engines like Google even store a record of your IP address and Web searches.

Web proxies like Anonymouse act as intermediaries between your computer and the websites you visit by passing along HTTP (web) protocol requests and displaying the contents of the requested URL within your browser. For example, if you use Anonymouse to visit Google and you start some keyword searches, Google will only see Anonymouse as its visitor, not you. Any data that Google sends to Anonymouse will then be forwarded by Anonymouse to you.

To take online privacy to the next level, have a look at the Tor anonymity tool.
