DNS query websites
DNS query websites allow you to perform whois searches to find out the following information about other websites:
- Registrar – the name of the organization (registrar) that registered the domain name. Some DNS registrars are GoDaddy.com and Network Solutions.
- DNS Servers – the names of the public DNS servers that authoritatively answer DNS queries for the domain names queried.
- Organizational details – names, addresses, email addresses for the organization that owns the domain name you queried.
For example, a whois search for the domain name cisco.com yields the following results:
